Lenovo is among first of the manufacturers to release 4G LTE-enabled smartphones in India. The brand’s A series devices like the Lenovo A6000, A6000 Plus, and the A7000 are quite popular in the country. The brand recently brought its K3 Note to India, which is also a budget 4G LTE smartphone priced at Rs 9,999. Another smartphone maker from China, MEIZU, which recently joined the Indian market is also getting ready to launch its new LTE smartphone, the m2 note, in the country.

The MEIZU m2 note and Lenovo K3 Note, both the smartphones come in different colour variants. The former measures 8.7mm around the waist and weighs 149 grams. The Lenovo K3 Note on the other hand weighs 150 grams and sports a slimmer waistline of 8mm. The m2 note offers a polycarbonate rear panel with a matte texture, and comes with a new home button called mBack, which offers both capacitive and mechanical touch to trigger specific functions.

Display and OS

On the display front, the MEIZU m2 note and Lenovo K3 Note, both the devices offer large 5.5-inch displays bearing screen resolutions of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. The Lenovo K3 Note is powered by an octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6752 processor, further supported by 2GB of RAM and a Mali T760 MP2 graphics processing unit. The m2 note on the other hand is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 chipset, aided by 2GB of RAM and a Mali T720 MP3 GPU. Both the smartphones are equipped with 16GB of internal memory, which users can further increase via a microSD card.


For imaging, the MEIZU m2 note and Lenovo K3 Note, both the smartphones offer 13-megapixel autofocus rear cameras with dual colour LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooters. Both the devices are capable of recording full HD videos and come with Face detection, geo tagging, High Dynamic Range, and Touch to Focus features.

In terms of connectivity, the m2 note and K3 Note smartphones offer similar options including dual-SIM, support for Indian 4G LTE bands, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro-USB 2.0, and A-GPS. The m2 note is powered by a 3,100mAh battery, while the K3 Note is fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery.


The Lenovo K3 Note and MEIZU m2 note smartphones offer almost similar specifications including Android Lollipop, 13MP rear cameras, 5MP front shooters, 16GB of internal memory, full HD displays, and octa-core CPUs. The m2 note has a few advantages including a larger battery and a mechanical/capacitive home key.
